House in Ajami, Jaffa | A Collage of Time, Material, and Color | Lead architect for this project at Ilan Pivko Architects
The Vision: Where Historic Preservation Meets Living Industrial Aesthetics

During my time as a lead architect at Ilan Pivko Architects, I managed the design and execution of a unique residential project in Jaffa’s Ajami neighborhood—a home for a vibrant young family that integrates a preserved historic structure with a modern addition.

The design challenge lay in harmonizing the authentic local atmosphere with the clients' industrial design preferences. The result is a rich material collage where traditional plaster techniques meet bespoke craftsmanship in carpentry and metalwork. Special emphasis was placed on the precision of tones and textures: a blend of vivid, lively colors reflecting the family’s dynamic energy, paired with raw, authentic materials that create a warm, domestic feel.

This project highlights the connection between past and present, between Jaffa’s urban fabric and the residents' distinct personality, resulting in a functional living space that maintains a clear artistic statement.
