Harvey Nichols, Dundrum, Dublin | Retail Experience and International Collaboration | Project architect under Christian Biecher
The Vision: Creating a Distinct Shopping Experience through Design

As a project architect working under Christian Biecher, I was involved in the design and realization of the Harvey Nichols store at Dundrum Town Centre in Dublin.

Harvey Nichols embodies a unique approach to retail—where the shopping experience is shaped through design. The architecture creates a refined and precise spatial framework, allowing materials, light, and product to define an atmosphere that is both elegant and effortless. Movement through the store is intuitive and fluid, supporting a curated and elevated experience rather than a purely commercial one.

What was particularly meaningful for me in this project was the process itself. As a young architect working within a Paris-based office, I was part of a complex international collaboration: British clients, Irish contractors on site, and bespoke retail joinery developed by the German company DULA.

I was closely involved in both the design development and on-site supervision in Dublin, engaging directly with execution, detailing, and coordination. Working across cultures and disciplines required precision, adaptability, and clear communication—an experience that significantly shaped my professional approach.

The result is a retail environment where design is not just a backdrop, but an active part of the shopping experience.
